What
We Do
Only The Best
Classic Overland goes to great lengths to find a quality, vintage Land Rover Defender 110 before we begin restoration. Once we find one, we remove all of the nuts and bolts and do a full mechanical work-over.
9 out of 10 vehicles we look at fail to make the cut.
Classic Overland
Better Than “Like New”
Firsly, Classic Overland recovers the interior and, if needed, can do a full paint job. We also kit out the Defenders with roof racks, rooftop tents, bull bars, spotlights, winches, hi-lift jacks and more.
Hassle-Free and Secure
Furthermore, once the vehicles are ready to ship, we begin the importation process. Classic Overland works to establish relationships with the two governments to bring Land Rover Defender 110 rebuilds into the US. We have them officially de-registered and titled for our customers. This process promises that the vehicle you buy from Classic Overland is 100% legal.

Who
We Are
Maybe you are standing at that crossroads where Stebin Horne found himself in 2011.
Having followed his family into law and politics, he fit squarely into the box anyone predicted he’d be in. But he was beginning to feel worn thin. At 37 years old, he realized that the daily grind of corporate life that was great for so many, wasn’t for him. Determined to break out, Horne bought himself a BMW GS Adventure and headed out across the country.
It didn’t take long for him to decide to never look back. He met some incredible people throughout the US and Canada, most importantly his future wife, Roos. She would take Stebin to her home in South Africa, a magical place at the tip of Africa where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans collide.
Our
Journey
The big question is whether you are going to say yes to your adventure.
Founder, Stebin Horne, travels to Africa to spend six months traveling in his Defender throughout Namibia, Botswana, and South Africa.
Stebin returns to the USA and establishes Classic Overland. Working with government, he streamlines the export and import process to ensure legal and safe delivery of his clients’ Defenders.
Classic Overland continues to grow in the Defender community. It gains the reputation as a full-off chassis restoration company offering quality vehicles and fair pricing.
Classic Overland opens up stateside operations in order to install GM LS3 petrol engines and Cummins 2.8 Turbo engines.
Classic Overland introduces its “Upland Edition” offering a Defender experience to Land Rover owners in the US.
Call it what you want. Bucking the system, taking the road less traveled, defying the ordinary.
First, the two married in the wine lands of Roos’ family farm. Later, they set out in their Land Rover Defender 110 for their honeymoon. For weeks, they traveled through Namibia, Botswana and into the Kruger Park of South Africa. There was no other freedom like camping among the lions or driving past an endangered rhino. And so, the experience moved Stebin and it was then that he realized what he wanted to do with his life. He wanted to bring a sense of adventure and freedom into the lives of others.
And so, the adventure began…
Marrying into a new family, Stebin was able to develop relationships in the South African Land Rover community. Upon Stebin’s return to America, he approached his friend and businessman, Stewart Vernon, as his business partner. Lastly, they brought Mac Leskosky on to manage the operations. The three of them then formed Classic Overland. Together, they are the perfect blend of expertise to offer a superior Land Rover Defender to customers. Stebin has spent the last few years creating a premium Defender rebuild that brings the overland experience to America for others to enjoy.
