Project Black Mamba

RAISED IN AFRICA

DESTINED FOR THE WORLD

Are you looking for a jaw-dropping, show-stopping, have-the-neighbours-gawking, make your brother-in-law jealous kind of truck? Well, there’s good news parked in the Classic Overland workshop. We’ve got our hands on an original 6×6 Defender — one of the rarest and most beastly off-road vehicles to have ever been built.

No matter where you go or what you do in this mega muscle machine, know that everyone is going to be turning heads and hurting necks trying to get one last look at your 6×6 monster truck.

We’re itching to start customizing this magnificent beast. All we’re waiting for is you.

PROJECT BLACK MAMBA
FROM $315,000

In a world full of trends, we believe in the classics. That’s why we source only the finest of Defenders in Africa, and between us, finding an original 6×6 in mint condition is a miracle on its own.

This beastly beauty was found in a Fire Station in the Winelands of Franschhoek South Africa with only 30,000 km on the clock. As an emergency vehicle, this 6 wheeled Defender came with a specially tuned and meaty V8 3.5-liter power plant that was meant to drag tons of water over rough African terrain.

We’ve dubbed this project “Black Mamba”, named after Africa’s most feared and dangerous snake; a name that seems rather fitting for this black on black on black V8-powered beast.

AFRICA'S MOST FEARED SNAKE

THE BLACK MAMBA

The black mamba is widely considered the world’s deadliest snake. They get their name not from their skin color, which tends to be olive to gray, but rather from the blue-black color of the inside of their mouth, which they display when threatened. Black mambas are fast, nervous, lethally venomous, and when threatened, highly aggressive. They have been blamed for numerous human deaths, and African myths exaggerate their capabilities to legendary proportions.

HOW THE 6X6 CAME TO BE

When the apocalypse hits, do you have what it takes to survive, sitting in your garage?

The 6×6 originates from the late 1980s. It was developed as a specialist vehicle to meet the requirements of the Australian Army for high payload cross-country trips. The vehicle was a massive hit, and not long after, the heavy-duty truck was made available to civilians and other militaries around the world.

Don’t miss out on the opportunity to spread a bit of envy every time you take your 6×6 out of the garage.

Want one? Well, we only have one to give.
