Two time PGA Tour winner Harris English came home last week from playing in The Open Championship at Royal Troon and it was safe to say he had taken a liking to the iconic Land Rover Defender.
“I’ve always been intrigued by these awesome trucks, but after seeing several around Royal Troon last week I became motivated to make one mine.”
After researching these trucks and realizing their limited availability in the United States, Harris was put in touch with Classic Overland with operations in his home state of Georgia.
“I feel fortunate to work with the team at Classic Overland to put me in the right Defender. Ironically, the owners of Classic Overland and I have several mutual friends and they were great to work with through this process. After looking at various companies throughout the US it was evident that Classic Overland not only provided the best product, but due to their operations being based in South Africa they were able to offer these trucks at a great price.”
Harris purchased the “Silverback” a beautiful Defender 110 with the Overland package. The vehicle was delivered to him in Sea Island, Georgia and Harris was kind enough to spend some time on the Golf Course at Sea Island giving golfing tips to Stebin Horne’s boys.
“We are honored to have Harris and his fiancé as part of the Classic Overland family and we look forward to watching him compete on the PGA Tour. It has probably been easy for Harris to remain incognito here on the Island but now that he’s driving the Silverback that’s going to be pretty hard.” said Classic Overland owner Stebin Horne.
